Respect the OhMyGame Community

We're not asking for the kind of respect reserved for nuns, the elderly and brain surgeons. We mean don't abuse the site. Every cool new community feature on OhMyGame involves a certain level of trust. We trust you to be responsible and millions of users respect that trust, so please be one of them.
We don’t expect you to grovel, admire, pay attention to or fall to your knees in awe of OhMyGame. It only means, respect what we’re trying to accomplish. Respect the other users on the site. An open, community-driven service such as OhMyGame depends on a certain level of trust between service provider and customer. We trust you to be responsible and respectful. That’s all.

Exercise a modicum of good taste

We’re not here to tell you what to do, but please exercise a little restraint. In general, avoid the following types of content:

·         Explicit or obscene pornography and sexual content, or such pornographic content as may be prohibited by your local legislation. We have no particular urge to help you develop and distribute Goatse Quest and Tubgirl Adventures.

·         We’re not going to tell you to avoid nudity or sexual themes, because we’re not Apple or Disney. All we want is for you to consider whether this material is really as funny, edgy or important as it may immediately appear.

·         Please avoid graphic, realistic depictions of death or grievous injury. Again, we’re not going to tell you to keep it PG-13, just to consider whether it’s really necessary to have screen-filling images of real-world gunshot wounds, decomposing bodies or torture.

·         Respect copyright. Only upload images and audio that you made or have explicit authorisation to use. Don’t upload sprites, tiles, sound effects or music from commercial games, no matter how old they might be. Feel free to be inspired by them and even imitate them, but don’t upload other people’s work.

Rest assured that your right to free speech is respected. We are not the thought police, and we will never censor your opinions (With respect to the terms of service). That, however, does not mean that you can engage in hate speech.
We do not tolerate predatory behaviour. Any threats, whether implied or real, stalking, harassment, invasions of privacy or revealing of other members’ personal information will result in swift, permanent banning.

These rules of conduct are designed to allow everyone to enjoy OhMyGame. They’re not in place to restrict your creativity or prevent your freedom of expression; they’re here to let you know how we prefer our visitors to act towards us and, especially, each other.
We only ask that you keep these rules in mind, and that you respect the Terms of Use.
That’s the dull part, the only thing that remains to be said is: Go forth and make games! Help each other, criticize each other, collaborate and compete as much as your heart desires. It has never been easier to build a game, get it in front of a huge audience and even earn a living from doing so.
